Tango technique drills and training in body mechanics, musicality, strengthening and stretching. Exercises for a grounded walk, stable pivots and proper use of disassociation and cross lateral movements. Classes are designed to condition the physical body (tone, control, ease of movement, muscle memory) and expand your body awareness (embodiment, conscious movement, alignment). A friendly space for asking questions and exploring what you need to develop your dance.
Foundation Technique Classes are for both leader and follower roles. We encourage students to do technique training to compliment the partner work. There is a technique component in all of our classes however the primary focus of our partner work is communication and connection. If you are doing individual technique training you will be better prepared for the partner work. Wear comfortable clothes and bring dance shoes as well as socks. Classes are 50 minutes.
COVID PROTOCOL :: Keeping dance available and our community safe.
-Please be respectful of each others needs for feeling safe.
-Masks are optional please feel comfortable in your choice to use them or not.
-We have reduced class sizes well below the number allowed
-Registration with a partner is required for partner classes and there will be no rotation of partners.
-No partner required for technique classes as it is all individual work.
-The hall is spacious with plenty of ventilation, all windows will be open.
-The hall will be sanitized before every class.
-Most importantly if you feel unwell or have been in contact with anyone experiencing covid symptoms do not attend class.
