TECHNIQUE – SPRING 8 weeks

( discount rate: $100 for students taking another series)
Tango technique drills and training in body mechanics, musicality, strengthening and stretching. Exercises for a grounded walk, stable pivots and proper use of disassociation and cross lateral movements. Classes are designed to condition the physical body (tone, control, ease of movement, muscle memory) and expand your body awareness (embodiment, conscious movement, alignment). A friendly space for asking questions and exploring what you need to develop your dance. Taught by both instructors, Santiago and Deborah.
Foundation Technique Classes are for both leader and follower roles.
Int/Adv Technique Classes are for both leader and follower roles with specific attention to embellishments and musicality and advanced movements
We encourage students to do technique training to compliment the partner work. There is a technique component in all of our classes however the primary focus of our partner work is communication and connection. If you are doing individual technique training you will be better prepared for the partner work. Wear comfortable clothes and bring dance shoes as well as socks. Classes are 50 minutes.
